After reading the article and having my concept idea, I have become with this next idea:
There’s a gray city with the usual stuff you can find on a polluted city, factories throwing smoke, cars, buses, dead parks, no signs of any vegetation or nature left on that place.
Suddenly out of nowhere a leaf enters this devastated and contaminated place. Everywhere the leaf goes, seems to get more light, seems to be reinforced, but once the leaf goes by, everything goes back to normal.
As its flying through the city, the leaf enters a small alley, its being pulled by a big fan. The Leaf is struggling to fly somewhere else, but there is no fight. The wind is too strong. The leaf has been absorbed to an unknown place.
This room is like a big machine made out of cubes. As the leaf approaches to any of these cubes, it’s as if they’re alive. With every move the leaf does inside this unknown machine, there’s a different reaction.
The leaf is confused and so is the machine, it’s like analysing this unknown object that entered. The leaf decided to rest in the floor. Bad decision. The leaf is being pushed up and crushed by several cubes.
The leaf has become a small drop. It has been transformed by one of the monstrous machines that human created. But the end is not so bad for this leaf, since it will be serving a greater good. It will help humanity against the lack of water.
Let’s not make this necessary Its time to do something before this extreme measures are needed.

Article Review/Synopsis.
The Machine as the Garden
The New Harvard Campus in Allston, Sustainability, and its Effects on Design
By Nahalie Beauvais
This article is about the development of the campus that goes across the Charles Rives in Allston and about the efforts of reducing the pollution and excess of resources that this type of building requires. The main goal of this development, is integrating the sustainable aspects in the design and not just as “add-ons”, the idea is creating some sort of sophisticated engineering and technologically project, that decreases the need and use of natural resources, so there’s no such a big impact on the environment.
It’s obvious that a science building needs a lot of resources and even if you apply all the technology that exists now a days, it would never get to be self sufficient in terms of resources though the idea is taking it to the minimum as possible.
What I found interesting about the article, is the measures they’re taking to approach and accomplish their objective of creating this thing as a whole, and not just as different pieces. I believe that in the future the building will become a sustainable machine with millions of different functions to decrease the damage on the environment and decrease the impact.
Also, it’s very important to mention, that this sort of projects are developed not just by architects. The development of this types of projects, has become a multi professional activity, which I believe can accomplish a much more accurate result since it’s covered by several points of views.

Third's assignment main idea
Sustainable machine.
The main Idea for this third assignment is creating an environment where you can actually see and feel how the humanity is polluting the cities, and how gray and contaminated have become.
After putting that in evidence, I want to build some sort of futuristic machine on which you can actually see how a leaf, enters, and turns into water after a few movements of the machine.
In some sort of way, I want to propose one hypothetical alternative to the problem of lack of water which the humanity is confronting.
I’m going to try to create a very abstract model, but still, that people can be able to understand all the ideas, and also try to leave the viewer something to think about.
I’m aware that what my proposal it isn’t even close to reality but still I’m not trying to come with a solution, I’m just trying to make conscience.
